FIRST ATHEIST MONUMENT SET TO BE UNVEILED IN FLORIDA

The first U.S. public monument to Atheism is set to be unveiled outside a Florida courthouse later this month. It’s a granite bench engraved with secularist quotes. And weirdly, it owes its existence to the Ten Commandments.

Colorado made history Tuesday when Governor John Hickenlooper signed six bills into law that will govern the cultivation, sale, and taxation of recreational marijuana, creating the first legal framework in the U.S. for recreational marijuana use.

Forecast global temperature rise of 4C a calamity for large swaths of planet even if predicted extremes are not reached

Some of the most extreme predictions of global warming are unlikely to materialise, new scientific research has suggested, but the world is still likely to be in for a temperature rise of double that regarded as safe.
 
The researchers said warming was most likely to reach about 4C above pre-industrial levels if the past decade's readings were taken into account.

In just about any workplace in America, these would be considered unchecked hostility issues worthy of a visit with the human resources rep and, maybe, a bump in the company medical plan's mental health coverage.

On May 9, 2013 according to the accepted standard Keating Curve, the porportion of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere broke 400 parts per millionfor the first time in 3-5 million years. This means there were 400 molecules of carbon for every million air molecules in the atmosphere. This level of carbon pollution has profound implications for temperatures rising, sea level rising and the quality of our lives. Read more now...
