ICSA receives many requests for help and information from former members struggling with recovery issues and families concerned about a loved one.
We also receive messages from former members and families that describe full and happy lives. These letters, of course, gratify us a great deal, for helping former members heal is central to ICSA’s mission.
A life full of family, career, and meaning, however, may understandably cause former members or families to pay progressively decreasing attention to their cult experience and to ICSA.
Since ICSA depends completely upon those who have been harmed by a cult experience, we have mixed reactions when former members and families reach such a point in their lives. On the one hand, we cheer them on, for their success in life is our goal as well as theirs. On the other hand, every time we lose a member/contributor the challenge of sustaining this important organization becomes more difficult.
We would like to request two things from you.
First, please continue to remain a member and contribute to ICSA – even if your life is complete and satisfying. (We thank you if you have recently sent in a donation.)
Second, if you are among those fortunate people who have reached a place of fullness in your life, please consider sending us a message (email@example.com) that talks about your journey and explains why you continue to help ICSA help others who are still struggling. Your reflections, which we will keep anonymous unless you ask us not to, may encourage those who struggle still and inspire those whose cult-related difficulties are behind them.
Your continuing support is vital.
