What is the truth about the death of L. Ron Hubbard?
On May 6, FACTNet attorney Graham E. Berry filed a petition with a San Luis Obispo CA court asking that the trustee over the estate of L. Ron Hubbard be removed and that Berry be allowed to gather evidence about the death of L. Ron Hubbard. Berry's request included a number of stunning allegations including:
Copies of the papers that Berry filed can be found here.
Hubbard died in hiding on a ranch near San Luis Obispo, which is north of Los Angeles.
Scientology officials were furious at the disclosures. They flew in attorneys flown from as far away as DC to ask the court to strike Berry's documents and exhibits (including the coroner's reports with the evidene of psychiatric drugs) but the court refused. The court also refused to grant Berry his emergency order and said he should refile it with the court with a standard 30-day notification. Berry said he would.
Scientology has strongly protested Berry's action, calling it "extortion" but as one poster to the news group alt.religion. scientology pointed out, since when is it "extortion" to try to the courts to get the cult to pay money the debts owed that Berry was demanding? And what is the cult hiding?
Hubbard died in 1986 but Scientologists were never told that their Founder was on psychiatric drugs. They were told he moved to another "level of research," as if he meant it.
They why was a powerful psychiatric drug found in his blood? Is that how the "upper levels" are researched now?
What else weren't they told about his death and the estate and the takeover by David Miscavige and his lackey Norman F. Starkey, the "trustee."
Is that why they are trying to get these files closed?
