What does Pay-to-Post do?
As a Factnet member you can search and read through years of discussions and information on a broad range of anti-cult activity. With Pay-to-Post you become a subscribed member - able to participate in discussions, make use of new features like social groups, and benefit from additional enhancements such as increased avatar sizes and larger attachments.

You can always read all of the discussion forum postings for free, but if you try to post to any Factnet discussion board forum and you are not a paid subscriber, a message will pop up and you will be asked to buy a discussion forum posting permission subscription that will allow you to post in all public forums.

Where does the Money Go?
Our extensive security and operating costs demand a higher budget then average discussion forums. These subscriptions help keep our nonprofit running and secure and usher in a new era of Factnet growth. Over the last 15 years we have tried many other ways to keep our nonprofit solvent, and donation drives alone have not proven viable to continue to sustain and expand our nonprofit services in these changing financial times.

How much will it cost me?
We are pricing as low as we can looking for just enough to address our yearly budget. You can see the current offerings and prices HERE

What if I can't pay but really need to post and/or talk to other paid subscribers?
We understand that these times are hard and that being involved with cult experiences can be financially draining. If you are living at the poverty level and cannot afford even the $2 lowest posting fee, send us an email by clicking the contact link at the bottom right of the discussion forum. Be sure to include all good faith relevant details. The administrators and moderators are the sole decider of providing any free subscriptions.

A note to past donors for Free Subscriptions:
If you were a Factnet donor who gave us more than $50 from Oct 1, 2008 to Feb 28, 2009 during our emergency keep the site up donation drive - we promised you would get a free lifetime subscription to the website and you should not need to do anything additional. If we missed activating your name, please email us at manage@factnet.org - please use 'Former Donor Subscription Exception' in the subject line. Also paste in or attach proof you have that you a donation of $50 or more during that period

How Do I pay?
Our pay-to-post subscription system will accept a broad range of credit cards and payments from PayPal accounts. The two processes described farther below for existing board users and new board users describe in detail where to begin and what to do. (Please note: If you use a different online payment system, let us know we might be able to support you in the future but for now we are using PayPal.)

Can I get a Refund?
There are no refunds if your paid subscription has been canceled by our administrators for violating the website registered user rules! If you have some other legitimate reason for asking for a refund send your request to the Discussion Board administrator by clicking the contact link at the bottom right of the discussion forum. Be sure to include all relevant details. The administrators and moderators are the sole deciders of refunds for legitimate cause. Keep in mind that when you ask for a refund the subscriptions are a lot of the funding that keeps our nonprofit alive and working.

New Discussion Forum Rule for all Pay to Post Subscriptions:

Please note the new discussion forum rule that has been added to the registered user agreement that all posting members have agreed to including all amendments to this agreement. Your obtaining a new pay to post subscription legally binds you to agreeing to this new rule as well! The following was added recently to the registered user agreement:

“We are serious about our discussion forum rules contained within the Factnet website user agreement! If you violate the website user agreement rules or the discussion forum rules, you will be barred from posting in the discussion forums and no paid subscription refund will be made to any website user agreement or discussion forum rules violators.”

What if I have a problem in the subscription process?
Re-read the step by step instructions below and if there is still a problem contact the Discussion Board administrator by clicking the contact link at the bottom right of the discussion forum. Be sure to include all the details of the problem.

Instructions for the New Factnet Pay-to-Post subscriptions

New Users
You simply need to register - for detailed instructions see the Registration FAQ

Current Users

Step 1: Login with your current user name and passwords on the discussion board.

Step 2: Click the User CP (Control Panel) link at the top left light blue bar at the top of the Discussion board.

Step 3: Click the Paid Subscriptions in the left hand column just below the Miscellaneous link.

Step 4: Select the type of Subscription you would like.

Step 5: For payments using either a CreditCard or an existing PayPal account - Click the PayPal button and then make your payment at PayPal. You will then be taken to a Pay Pal receipt page. Copy the receipt information in case there is a problem! On this page you will also see a return to Factnet link. Do not click it until you have copied your receipt information!

Step 6: Click the return to Factnet link. It will take you back to Factnet. There you should be able to begin posting immediately to the discussion forum of your choice. If you have any trouble posting, logout and login again. You must be logged into the discussion board to post even if you have a paid subscription.

Step 7: Begin posting. If there is a problem and your subscription has not activated within 1 hour or less: First if you paid via a PayPal account, validate it shows a valid transaction. Then contact the discussion board administrator by clicking the contact link at the bottom right corner of the discussion board. Be sure to include copies of your passwords, the email address you used to register and or subscribe if they are different, your Pay Pal receipt information and put Paid Posting problem in the subject line.
