Greetings,

I am new to this board. I am a FORMER member of the so called United Nation of Islam. I can tell you that this group is definetly a destructive cult. Mind control, manipulation, coercive tactics, general abuse (spiritual, mental, emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical), and abuse of women and children are all in play with this group.

After noticing the sub-forum title "United Nation of Islam Royall Elliot Jenkins," I would like to make a request of you.

I am requesting that you modify the sub-forum title to "United Nation of Islam/Food For Life Supreme." And if you can put the name "Royall Elliot Jenkins" in there too, all the better.

Here is the reason: being a FORMER member of this cult, I know that for the last 3-4 years, this group has been in the process of repackaging themselves. They have been opening up a chain or restaurants called "Food For Life Supreme Restaraunt (or Diner, Carry-Out, Bakery, etc)."

When members of the group interact with the general public, they present themselves as representatives of "Food For Life Supreme" (FFLS) rather than acknowledging that they are members of the United Nation of Islam (UNOI). On the FFLS website, their are neither any links to the official UNOI website, nor any references to the UNOI anywhere.

With the FFLS operation, they are purposely concealing or downplaying any association with the UNOI name.

There are two reasons why they are doing this. One, they want to come across as NOT being muslim or Islamic so that people will patronize their eateries. Many in the public are rightly or wrongly skeptical of muslims/Islam due to concerns about terrorism. There was a time that the UNOI had businesses and they openly promoted themselves as being muslims and/or islamic, and when they did this they got very little business from the public. Unfortunately with the FFLS operation, they now enjoy very good business by creating exotic menus and dining atmospheres that enchant people who are unaware of their history.

The second reason for this extreme makeover is because they are trying to diassociate from the UNOI past. A past where they made negative impressions on outsiders due to elitist attitudes (due to believing that they alone are wise, the "righteous", and everyone else is with "satan)." A past where the abuse and manipulation of its members became publicly known. A past where families where broken due to dealings with this group.

The UNOI is very image conscious, and they spend a lot of energy in making sure that they come across to the public as being positive. If you where to encounter them, if you did not know anything about them, you would conclude that they are noble and that their motives are altruistic.

Those of us who know the inner workings of the group know the real deal that the public will never know. I am hoping that more ex-members will heal and have the courage to speak out about what is going on.
