All we know, so far, is that the Universe, through the process of inflation, evolved into what we see around us now over a period of about 13.7 billion years from that point. All we know is that we are inside of it and at one time it didn’t exist, and neither did we. Perhaps we humans will never know, can never know due to our limited intelligence, where it all came from and why.
Whether a god caused this singularity to appear; or it represents an endless cycle of birth, death and rebirth of universes that had no beginning and will have no end is nothing but speculation that cannot be proven at present. You and other religious people tend to anthropomorphize the natural forces that could be responsible for the appearance of what we know as the Universe, calling it God or Jesus in your Christian mythological cosmology. Buddhists believe that the Universe came into existence through the mental actions of its inhabitants without needing to explain a beginning or end. In Hindu cosmology, the singularity is not the beginning but just the start of the present manifestation of the Universe that was preceded by an infinite number of universes and that will be followed by an infinite number of universes. This sounds very close to what some scientific cosmologists say.
If I had to chose a religious cosmology that best fit my personal belief, it looks like it would be Hinduism. However, since I have a rational scientific mind, I believe the Lambda-Cold Dark Matter standard model of physical cosmology explains how the Universe came into existence better than any other model. No gods, no anthropomorphic projections, just the best explanation that we have.
I find it hilarious that theory has never own a single court case. The more correct way to say that line is "socialistic ideologues" have forced this garbage down the throats of suckers using the disguise of seperation of church and state. But opinions are like @@@holes everybody has one and they all stink.
