You are reminding me of a story of a great Evangelist by the name of Charles Templeton. Charles Templeton, and Billy Graham founded Youth for Christ International. He became a very good friend of Billy Graham. Having no formal theological training he decided back to school, Princeton Theological Seminary, and it was there that his faith was ruined. The Seminary was going in a more "Liberal" theological stream. Charles Templeton saw the results of the Nazi Concentration Camps and could not reconcile them with his TULIP/Predesination beliefs. He became an agnostic.

Billy Graham was not able to answer all the questions that Charles Templeton had, and went out into the woods one day asking God for a sign to prove to him that He was real. It was there that Billy Graham took the Word of God as the Word of God and made a decision that he would always believe no matter what, by FAITH.

Billy Graham did not chastise his friend Charles for having doubts, Charles had those doubts due to a conflict of his faith. Billy Graham made the decision to pray for his friend, Charles Templeton.

I know that you know enough. Some matters we need to decide to take by FAITH, and this may seem like going against logic.

What you say I will remember, there are reasons to believe differently than I believe, they are even logical. I admit that sometimes I get overly critical, and opinionated...but I am passionate, and committed about what I believe. I will try to use self-control. My convictions sometimes get pretty strong when people attack my faith. I have chosen by Faith to believe in "orthodox" Christianity, and will not leave that faith.

This is a general statement and not meant specifically to you or anyone in particular, but your comment hit a positive note:

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you (Ephesians 4:32-32).

This is really great advice and really is the only way to expect fruit from your witnessing. Knocking on doors, handing out tracts, preaching in a public forum, and especially showing anger or distain for those you disagree with, never bears fruit. The early Christian church grew rapidly because of the kindness and forgiveness exhibited by the early Christians. I believe the church will eventually die if too many so-called Christians push their holier than thou attitudes and continue to push their faith into everyone’s face.

You want to bring someone to your side? Show love and kindness.

    Orthodox,

I do not think that you interpreted Chad correctly on your post #18 of this thread.

Proving that either you or myself do not have the Gift of Interpreting Tongues.
