Hi Dob. Thank you for that séance story, and how you believed that demons followed you home; and how you prayed to God to get them out of your head. However, anyone with a rational mind would know immediately that those “demons” existed only in your mind and nowhere else.

You’re lucky that you managed to rid yourself of such delusions quickly. If these “demons” remained in your head I would have suggested psychiatric/psychological counseling and perhaps medication. Of course, with you believing that a god comes when you pray to help you get uncomfortable thoughts out of your head, it can be just as effective, psychologically speaking. So, the next time you see demons, devils, or extraterrestrials coming to abduct you, pray hard and fast. If that doesn’t work, and you feel that you’re being possessed by a demon, perhaps the Catholic Church can help you through exorcism.

    Will.

I will continue to express that point of view in my conversations with others here and elsewhere. If you consider that to be narrow minded or judgmental, all I can say is that you are, as I am and everyone else here, entitled to your opinion.
Dodge, generally I don't find you narrow-minded or judgmental. In fact, I find much of what you say to be quite interesting, and I like that you rarely let people provoke you. All I am saying is that some of us did not choose Christianity because of mental illness or a propensity for self-disillusionment. Some Christians do not eagerly await non-Christians being sentenced to some imagined eternal torture chamber. Some of us believe we are supposed to treat you with the same decency as someone who agrees with us. Some of us like you despite the fact you disagree. When you make sweeping statements about Christians, you don't seem to stop to consider that we don't all fit the same mold, and I wish you would.

Btw, as far as demons, Satan, or what have you.. I personally believe that we as humans don't need any coaching whatsoever from outside sources to do all the wrong things. I know any choices I've made have been my own.

Hi Stage. I take your point about making “sweeping statements concerning Christians.” I wasn’t really aware that this is what I’ve been doing, nor have I been overly concerned about offending those who believe in Christ/Satan/God. In my eagerness to express my point of view I’ve been provocative and disrespectful. I've felt contempt for those who come here saying that anyone who doesn’t believe what they do are destined to eternal damnation in Hell, even though they have the right to their opinions. I guess I feel the same way, that I have the right to express my attitude towards them and others who come here with what appears to me to be insanely ignorant statements. Perhaps all of this has resulted in me appearing to be arrogant, narrow minded, and judgmental. If so, I’m sorry. I didn't mean it to come out that way. I will try to be more tolerant and respectful of others’ beliefs and chose my words more carefully. I’m struggling against my inherent sardonic nature.

Thank you for putting a mirror in front of me, Stage. I don’t like what I see.

Hi Turtle. So you've seen demons cast out of people? Could you give me a description of what you saw, what the circumstances were? Did you actually "see" the "demon?" If so, what did it look like?

I'll attest to that. You present tons of Scripture to try and lend support to your understanding. Chad14 never does. You two couldn't possibly be the same people. I'm pretty good at figuring these things out for the most part. If you and Chad14 were each other, I would have figured it out ages ago.

Hi Chad14. Thanks for the description of the “demon” you saw. So, it looked somewhat like a pig, with hoofed feet, and an ugly face? That’s very interesting.

What was the situation where you say you saw this demon “being cast out?” Was it in a room where religious people were gathered, perhaps an “exorcist” performing some sort of ceremony? Was it connected to a church that you belonged to?

I ask this because in the world that I live in, there are no such things as demons. They just don’t exist. What you think you saw could have been some sort of staged exhibition, to make you and the others present believe that they saw a demon being extracted from a person. Or what you may have been experiencing was a hallucination, a projection of something that exists within you that appeared to you to be objective. It could have been a form of mass hypnosis, or a symptom of some sort of mental illness.

Whatever it was, you certainly didn’t see a demon, Chad14. That’s impossible.

Hi Chad14. You say that you belong to a bunch of “saved people who have a church and worship God/Jesus” where a “demon appeared trying to find some one to get into,” but when you all prayed the demon disappeared.

I guess that says it all about who you are, the kind of people you hang around with, and what your level of sophistication is.

I would appreaciate in the future that you not talk about my exwife in this manner.
I realize she is ugly, but did have her uses. She is so ugly,I took her squirrel hunting. She just looked up at them and they fell dead to the ground. Her mother was uglier, but she tore them up too bad.
