And sometimes an earthquake is just an earthquke.
Things happen and no matter how "good" or "bad" something is, it doesn't mean it is or isn't from God. His ways are HIGHER than ours.
It was funny that so many preachers were trying to find a reason for 9/11, the tusnomi (spelling) and now Katrina/Rita.
"They" claim America is so godless -- yet there are more "Christians" now than ever before in this country. There's even a born-again President! (Ahem!) The "moral republicans" are in control now, so God SHOULD be happy with the country.
However, since Bush (God's man?) has been in office and the "Christians" in control, we've had 9/11, Bush's war in Iraq, the tsumnomi, rising gas prices, Katrina/Rita, et al.
So if the people rejoice when a godly man is in office, how come no one is rejoicing? How come EVERYTHING was better under Clinton, a man with serious moral failings??
There are no easy answers and I don't think these horrible disasters are God "judging us" -- for what? Again, more Christians are in leadership and more Christian "thinking" is available and pursued in this country than ever before.
I hardly think God cares about the 10 commandents not being on the courtroom walls -- after all, they are commandments and they are NOT all laws, so they don't belong in a legal system -- and to eliminate "under God" from the pledge is hardly earth (or heaven) shaking since most people probably don't believe it anyway.
I have no idea if these disasters are from God or not. But I DO know that sometimes a hurricane is just a hurricane...!
