Default I live in Sherman and recently

I live in Sherman and recently snuck into Woodmen Circle. I went through every floor, building, everything. At the time I knew nothing about Ariel or the "cult". A friend and I decided to do some research on the building and it's inhabitants over the years and stumbled on Ariel. We are very curious about what went on there. I would really appreciate it if those of you who followed him would post any information about Woodmen Circle. The bulding is broken down and vandels run wild, it's very sad to see such a beautiful place so wrecked. Please post anything on Ariel or the place that you would like.

I lived in the Woodman Circle Mansion (I guess you could call it) with the cult. We worked at the local busineses in Sherman and Dennison.

Did you find anything cool we left behind?

If you were truly part of "the" church, then you will remember many teachings were truths based on the Bible. Anyone can go astray or make wrong choices & it is not our place to judge or condemn - Ariel (or Warren?) did a lot of good in his lifetime and anything else he did is between him & God. I prefer to take what blessings we all got and focus on the good things that happened over those years. There were many wonderful people }that will always hold a special place in my heart.

Yes, I am rejoicing. Because I am no longer in 'bondage' and for all the blessings I received while part of 'the church'. I have to agree with smplflks in that there were a lot of truths taught and I did meet many wonderful people there. I am a much stronger person today because of what I experienced under Ariels teaching.

It is refreshing to hear you say that you are a stronger person, "rejoicing". We have bumped into 3 or 4 people from the church over the past 20 or so years and all of them seemed to be pretty bitter. I feel sad for them since they don't seem to have remembered any of the good things we were taught. Those of us who were adults became part of the church by choice either because we were looking for something or it filled an empty spot in our lives. Over the years I believe we grew and learned many things that could help us be stronger as you said - and also help us to lead a better quality and more productive life. We stayed with the church (if adult of course)by choice and I truly feel sorry for those who left with hard feelings. It was not a perfect life - but, is anything really perfect? You have to pick out what you want to believe and follow that. Life is about choices. I believe Ariel taught us many basics at the beginning and if we stick to that simplicity, we are richer because of it. How many of us would have accepted God into our everyday lives if it weren't for "the church"? Sure, some things got interesting at times - but again, that's when we had to decide if it was acceptable or appropriate for us personally......I know my heart is kinder and more understanding. I know I am at peace and wish nothing but the best for those I knew and loved so many years ago. Each day is a learning experience - and I thank God for the simple basics we were taught that help.

Default #1 lets call the "church&#

#1 lets call the "church" what it was, a cult.

#2 Lets call warren what he is, demon possessed or mentally ill.

#3 lets call those of us who had the misfortune of becoming screwed up by (basic simplicities)?
what we are, people who followed a demon possesed man into a deep deception that you seem to consider a blessing and refreshing.

Please discuss with me the "good things" we were taught. If your deception will allow you to.

If I remember warren died in south middleboro and became possesed by the spirit named ariel then God made him an apostle 2nd only to Jesus in power.
ariel is the neck of the body of christ and all authority coming to earth from God came through him.
Those who obeyed him without question in faith would be in the elect bride of christ.
Those who didn't choose to be one with him (possessed by the spirit of ariel) would experience death with an eternity of wailing and gnashing of teeth.

    I know what he taught.
I could go on but I suppose your deception has ordered you to stick with your simple truths.

Hey maybe you will end up in the same place he's going.} (that is what happens to followers)

Then again maybe not. please tell me the simple truths.

Default Simple truths: God will use a

    Simple truths:
God will use anyone to accomplish what he wants.
Jesus died for us that we may be free.
One can look at the years with the church as a blessing or a curse. I choose to see it as a learning experience that I chose to stick with until it was time to leave and then apply the teachings that I was comfortable with to my everyday life.
Many people that were struggling were helped by others in the church when they needed it most.
But, never mind the defense - it is all in the past and now is a time to enjoy what we have today.
The simple truth: Jesus is love.
As for Ariel - whether he is guilty or innocent is not our place to judge. That is between him and God. I choose to love the gentle side of him that I remember. And - no, I am not suffering from memory loss, I just prefer to focus on the things that help rather than be a victim for the rest of my life. Some things were not right, gee - maybe that's why we all chose to leave when we did - again......choice. But bitterness, judgementalism and hanging on to nasty feelings from 20+ years ago is definitely not healthy for anyone. We were all given enough of the truth to deal with it properly. The Bible does not lie and we were taught by the scripture many many hours. End of subject as far as I'm concerned.

There is nothing wrong with joining Sherman’s churches or any other church, group or organization. Anyone can give all their money and or all their control of their life to someone else it’s their preoperative. Anyone can learn and grow from what they experience throughout life and from any groups or organizations they join during their trip on this rock. The problem with Sherman and his groups is that he influenced and manipulated others into allowing themselves and worst, their children to be used, abused, and otherwise treated inhumanely all of which was done in an illegal manner to various degrees. Sherman was smart and kept his groups spread out and low key and now may be to old to meet any other punishments on this rock but God will take care of him later. As for the parents of those involved in any current, past or future abuse/death case of their children they are just as responsible as Sherman and will meet the same fate as Sherman when in front of God.

Of course people will be bitter. Their lives were affected and changed especially the children that were taken from their parents and homes. No kid should have to live through that hell and no parent should even make them by there actions or inaction. Hopefully the people from his groups that do leave or have left will be able to adjust and finish living a good happy life. <insert>

Default Can someone tell me what scrip

Can someone tell me what scripture in the Bible says that it’s ok to abuse children to the point they need to be taken out of their homes and placed in foster care because their lives are in eminent danger or because they are so abnormally adjusted they are 2 to 3 grade levels behind in development and have terror dreams every night? What scripture is that, I just can’t seem to find it any where in the Bible? Would someone please point me to these scriptures?

Where in the Bible does it say that it is ok to disregard mans laws? Does the Bible say that followers of Gad can do what ever they want on this world as long as it’s in the Bible?

Where does it say that it’s ok to let children die when you could have prevented their death with a couple trips to a doctor?

Where does it say it’s ok to use your “brothers and sisters” and take all their money and tell them that it is wrong for them to have anything of this world while you drive around in caddies and smoke fine tobacco and enjoy trips all around the country?

Where are these scriptures at? Am I reading the wrong kind of Bible because I thought these things were allowed, Sherman did/does these things?

Default Here is a current article.

    Here is a current article.

Crank, 43, and Ariel Ben Sherman, 75, are set to stand trial Jan. 19 on misdemeanor charges of child abuse and neglect in connection with the 2002 death of 15-year-old Jessica Crank.

Jessica died from a rare form of bone cancer. Authorities contend Jessica's mother and Sherman, who has been branded by some as a cult leader and was identified as Jessica's "spiritual father," ignored medical professionals' advice to get the girl treatment for the large growth on her shoulder.

Initially, the couple was charged with felony child abuse charges, and officials threatened to boost them to murder charges once Jessica died. But a Loudon County judge ruled at a preliminary hearing in December 2002 that prosecutors had failed to make their case and dismissed charges.

District Attorney General Scott McCluen then took the case to a Loudon County grand jury, which returned misdemeanor child abuse charges against the pair.

Jessica came to the attention of law enforcement in May 2002 when her mother took her to a walk-in emergency clinic in Lenoir City because of the growth on her shoulder.

Clinic personnel arranged for Jessica to be seen that same day at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, but the teenager never arrived. Authorities launched a search for the girl, who was living on Wheat Road in Loudon County with Sherman, her mother, her younger brother and several members of Sherman's New Life Tabernacle group.

Authorities finally learned her address in late June 2002. By then, however, her cancer was too advanced to save her. She died a few months later.

Isaacs contends in his motion that Jacqueline Crank twice sought medical help for Jessica but then "relied upon her faith and attempted to heal her daughter with prayer, faith and religious ceremonies." This, he said, was her right as a parent.

She now should be able to rely on her faith and its source - the Bible - in her defense, Issacs wrote in the motion.

Courts typically frown on, if not outright ban, the use of biblical scriptures in the courtroom. Appellate courts have ruled that the use of the Bible in legal proceedings may cause jurors to decide based on their own personal biases rather than the facts at hand.

McCluen has not yet filed a response to Isaacs' motion. Attorney Don Bosch, who represents Sherman, is also asking that prosecutors be barred from using the word "cult" during the trial.

Isaacs said Tuesday his client's case represents "a quintessential battle between science, faith, government and religious freedoms."

"It is ironic that Ms. Crank is being prosecuted for relying on her faith after going to doctors, but may not be allowed to rely on her faith before the jury," he said.

druid the bible doesn't say anything against going to the doctor.
mayrayah good article. have you read the book "RELEASING THE BONDS empowering people to think for themselves" by steven hassan? it explaines the tools ariel uses to get people traped in his cult. he isnt just abusing spiritual authority he is practicing mind control. he has one small group now and he controls everything they do where they work what they eat even how they think. how can he control what they think? the same way a man named adolph hitler got the christian nation of germany to kill over six million jews. I have family in his group moast of them escaped but some are there still. and im doing everything i can short of kidnaping to get them out.
