As many know, it is against Muslim law to renounce Islam and become a Christian. In Afghanistan, those who convert to Christianity from Islam face the death penalty. One such man, Abdul Rahman, now faces execution because he is a Muslim who has found Christ, and became a Christian. He refuses to renounce his Lord. The American Family Association is sponsoring a site which will send e-mails to the White House requesting that our government take action in this matter (if our government doesn't, we should all ask ourselves why our men are over there dying - to protect Islam's right to execute Christians?) Here is the link, I'm requesting that all concerned individuals respond at once:

One of my bad habits is to assume somthing.

Do you or anyone else know if there is a similar website for our friends in the UK?

FactNet seems to have plenty of Christians from other places then the USA.

    Default Crusader, Tonight

    Crusader,

Tonight's news aired Pres. George W. Bush's defense of Abdul Rahman, calling for human rights in Afghanistan.

Pres. Karzai is reported to have stated today (or recently) that Rahman will not be harmed. However, Karzai and Parliament are part of a separate branch of government from the judiciary branch. Rahman is in a public civil court, which is under the Afghan judiciary branch of government. Under their judicial system no law can be contrary to the principles of Islam.

This is a "catch 22" situation. The Afghan government says they will not violate international human rights' laws by prosecuting Mr. Rahman, but under their judicial system he would be guilty of converting from Islam to the Christian faith.

It has been alleged that Rahman is mentally unbalanced, but apparently he looked normal on TV news (not sure what network). Even if brother Rahman pled innocent due to insanity, he could be punished, exiled, even put in a mental institution (horrid conditions).

(I am paraphrasing the news commentary from tonight.)

The American Family Association's cause has been successful in alerting Bush to this matter. Yet we need to continue to pray for Abdul Rahman's protection...and for our other fellow Christians in Afghanistan.
