Never been a member of the Rastafari but I do enjoy a little ganja now and then.

All right folks, when I say "thinking critically about" that means I want to engage folks in analytical deconstructive thought. It does not mean I am involved in these things any more. I am an academic and a scholar, and not a braggart.
All right, are they any folks on here who have been involved in Rastafari culture, a quasi-Orthodox movement? This was my second to last stop on my way into the Church.
I am seeking to undo and unlearn everything toxic and harmful to my spiritual health. I need help to do this. I am single mother college student so my time is limited so if other folks have done research I would appreciate benefitting from it.
Thank you

Yeah me too...I miss it...too bad it's illegal. Ah well, it aint gonna solve my probs.
I've been exposed to the culture and I think that a big part of the foundation is the Nazarite Vow. The same vow Samson took. Not cutting hair, letting it grow in seven locks, not drinking any wine.
They really promote a healthy existence and the body as temple being at one with the spirit.
As long as you know that Jesus/Yashua is your lord and Savior, Rastafarian is a legitmate denomination.
But if you make that VOW, it has to be for life. Remember what happened to Samson. Can't be weak.
Their worship is AWESOME. I've caught the Holy Ghost at a Reggae Club before.
D Boz,
But this is not thinking critically. This is admiring, and I am done with that.

No, this is from personal experience and factual information not admiration. I'm not a rasta. I'm not a descendent of the House of Yudah. I'm a Messianic Jew.
I bind up all covetess spirits on this board in the Name of Yashua.
Amen
